Essential Permits for Your Mustang Trekking Adventure

The Mustang trek in Nepal is a popular adventure destination for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. However, before starting on this journey, you need to obtain a Mustang trek permit. This permit is required for all foreign trekkers, and it can be obtained through a registered trekking agency in Nepal.

The Mustang trek permit is divided into two parts: the Special Restricted Area Permit (RAP) and the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). The RAP is required to enter Upper Mustang, while the ACAP is required to trek in the Annapurna region.

To obtain the RAP, you need to provide your passport, visa, two passport-sized photos, and a detailed itinerary of your trek. The RAP is valid for 10 days, and it costs USD 500 per person. For each additional day beyond the initial 10 days, you will need to pay an additional fee of USD 50 per person per day.

To obtain the ACAP, you need to provide your passport, visa, and two passport-sized photos. The ACAP is valid for one entry and exit to the Annapurna region, and it costs USD 20 per person.
