Manaslu Trek Permit and Cost Details 2024
- Magnificent Himalayan Treks
For the Manaslu Circuit Trek, you need three permits. Trekkers can personally apply for the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) and Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP) permits, which can be collected from offices in Kathmandu, Pokhara, or Besisahar. However, the Restricted Area Permit (RAP) must be obtained through a licensed trekking agency due to its restricted nature.
The Manaslu Region found between Jagat and Dharapani in Nepal, is designated as a restricted area by the Nepal government to regulate tourism effectively. This restriction means that independent trekkers are not permitted to explore Manaslu on their own and must obtain a special entry permit.
The rules say that when you go on a trek in the Manaslu Circuit, you must be in a group of at least two people, and you must have a local, Nepali and government licenced guide with you. You can't get the special permit on your own; you have to ask a registered trekking agency to help you.
If you decide to combine the Manaslu Circuit with the Tsum Valley Trek for a bigger adventure, you'll need one more permit.
Going with a registered trekking agency makes it easier because they take care of the paperwork, making sure you can enjoy your trek in the Manaslu Region without any problems.
